When I learned that Frere-Jones got his inspiration for Gotham by photographing signage around New York City, I instantly knew skyscrapers were going to play a big part of the design. The font itself has numerous weights, which created a big challenge. I showcased these weights by creating skyscrapers from letter of various weights. I have come to love Gotham and use it frequently throughout my other projects.
